What's New at 2M?
2M - Flying into The Cloud!
Utilizing Microsoft's Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS) and their LightSwitch Rapid Application Development tool, 2M quickly transitioned the pc-bound business directory for
CleanTech Rocks and their QuickStart program into a cloud-based, flexible solution. The resulting application is powerful, resilient and inherently scalable as CTR builds out its program.
2M chose the Azure platform for its rapid provisioning, scalability and power.
Says Manny Morales (Chief Software Architect and Principle at 2M):
"The Azure / LightSwitch combination falls perfectly into our zone of technical expertise and allowes us to rapidly build an application based upon the client's business model.
In addition, running the application In The Cloud removes the need for infrastructure (from a cost and maintenance perspective), provides “anywhere access” and leverages the Green nature of the Azure platform over dedicated servers.
The configuration provides Scalability, Robustness, Rapid Provisioning, Flexibility and requires no Infrastructure investment from the client."
CleanTech Rocks is accelerating the development and adoption of Clean, Green and Sustainable Technologies by way of collaboration, organization and knowledge-sharing; visit their website for more details.

2M Creates Green-Education Database Portal
In spite of the recent economic downturn, there has been growth in jobs centering around the ‘Green technology movement’ which encourages energy efficiency,
use of renewable energy sources, and protecting our environment, economy, and public health.
Unfortunately, it has been difficult to fill these jobs because potential workers may have been unaware of where to look or may not have had the necessary skills required for the job.
In alliance with The Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center at Stony Brook University, we created a database and a portal through which various “Green” educational course providers,
throughout the state of New York, listed and validated their educational offerings, so that a supply of training and educational programs may be promulgated amongst workers and students seeking to acquire these unique skills.
Other partners in this group consist of The New York State Department of Labor, The New York City Labor Market Information Service (NYCLMIS) at the CUNY Graduate Center, the SUNY Chancellor’s Office, College of Nanoscale Science & Engineering
and the State University of New York at Albany.
The portal was available to all providers of degree and non-degree training, credit and non-credit courses and credentialing programs throughout the State of New York for identifying and classifying education and training opportunities in the "Green" sector.
